Have you ever been fishing? If so, did you enjoy it? If you have never been fishing, do you think you would enjoy it? What would you say are the biggest challenges of fishing? What is most frustrating about it? What is most rewarding?

If you were fishing on one side of the boat and you were not catching any fish, would you follow someone’s suggestion to switch sides? Do you think that could help? Jesus had the disciples do this more than once in the Gospel stories. Why do you think he told them to do that? Why do you think they listened to him?

The Apostles became courageously loyal to Jesus. Eventually, most of them were martyred. How would you explain such conviction? Is there anything or anyone you could feel that loyal to? Why or why not? What would you be willing to do for that person or cause?
